Kerverus Ltd has prepared this Privacy Policy to disclose its information gathering and dissemination practices for the www.kerverus.com website. Both users and the company are mutual agreed to the following privacy policy.
Mission
The sole purpose of the Kerverus website is to provide an advanced internet parental control in order for parents and guardians to monitor on a constant basis the activity of the internet by their child. This software is intended for home or school use only, the service is not permitted for commercial use unless there is a specifically written authorization by the company.
Collecting Information
The software collects information from a computer under specific user account, of the websites visited but also, Messengers like MSN (YAHOO and SKYPE are also under R&D) conversations. Your assignment to the computer is implemented by a specific procedure through a browser technology called cookie. A unique ID contained in the cookie, in cooperation with a password, guarantees the user’s login. In order to identify and separate information from more than one computer in your home, we also track your IP address. IP address is a unique -each time- number that identifies a computer which accesses the internet. This allows the designation of the computer’s, user and time. To make the system more secure and tight we are providing a security key, which is required to install an uninstall the software, and it’s delivered to users email but it can also be retrieved from the user any time. The s/w is invisible to accounts having user’s royalties, and also the running of the program cannot be stopped by the task manager.
During registration, but also in certain times we may request you to provide specific information in order to register at the website. This may include and will be limited to your name, email address, country and postal/zip code, and your home and mobile phone numbers for security reasons. We intent to enable an emergency mobile/SMS alert, to inform you on special information. You may choose not to have all of your computer services monitored or terminate the monitoring of a website, MSN/YAHOO/SKYPE messenger conversations or a computer any time. This however will limit our ability to provide you with our monitoring services.
Confidentiality
All specific information related to personal data, or website activity and personal messenger chats will not be disclosed to or shared with any third party. They are considered strictly confidential and available only to you under a password protection.
Advertisers
As there is no cost to you as a user for the services offered, the project is based on private investment and advertisers who will appear on our website and emails. We have in mind to help them and promote their advertisements. We shall provide them with special information, like geographical or demographical data or any extracted statistic data-in no case specific personal data such as names, telephone numbers or emails will be given.
Links to Other Websites
Our site may be provided for links to other internet sites. Since those websites are not controlled by us and they bear their own policies and practices, we cannot be held responsible for either their content or privacy practices.
Protection Against Misuse or Disclosure
We are taking any possible action and measures to ensure that information are secure and safe through our sites. Liability is restricted only to the user who arranges for the information to be provided after a password has been entered.
Qualification
Although our company is taking all the appropriate precautions, any access restrictions may well be bypassed. You acknowledge that Kerverus Ltd does not and cannot guarantee that information cannot be accessed by unauthorized persons capable of overcoming such restrictions.
School use
The Kerverus application apart from home use may as well be used in schools. The school’s PC administrator must install the application on the entire PC which will be monitored- for technical details refer to our FAQ section.
Reporting to authorities
Our mission and intention is to protect children’s internet life. We declare that we will co- operate and share all our available information, in order to help the task of the law enforcement authorities, such as Police and Judge Authorities, or any other authority over the website with the same mission and intention. This action will be taken having the appropriate licenses and authorizations in writing by sides, the user and the law.
Kerverus and adults
Kerverus’s mission is to protect children and those considered non adult persons (under-aged ones, that is). In case you intent to install Kerverus on PCs which are - or not -your property keep in mind that if used by people that are adults, (over 18 years old- but the age may vary from country to country depending on the local laws) may be considered as spying activity. We strongly suggest you not to install/use the Kerverus application at such PCs, Kerverus and Kerverus Ltd by no means can be held liable for inappropriate use of the application.
